CRT/N has been encouraging students by providing technical backups and grant support to carry out research on biomass related topics. In 2008, National ICS Network and Gender, Energy and Water Network (GEWNet) awarded grant to four research works related to energy technologies. National ICS Network supported two research works entitled “Fuel Consumption Testing on Different Types of ICS” and “Comparative Study of Efficiency of Traditional Stoves and Improved Cook Stoves” to Sunil Thapa/Rupa KC and Suchita Shrestha/Anita Shrestha of Centre Department of Environmental Sciences, Tribhuvan University.
