Under the sponsorship of the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC), CRT/N conducted a technical study of improved smokeless stoves installed in ICRC premises. ICRC has been involved in the promotion of improved smokeless stoves in jails of Nepal. Four different designs of mud stoves were tested. Technical testing of the stoves like efficiency, fuel wood consumption, heat losses and indoor air pollution were performed. HOBO and CO particle monitor purchased by CRT/N with support from ARECOP were used in the indoor air pollution tests.
