Success of any ICS programs depends heavily on the competent promoters.
Acceptance of ICS by the community depends on technically sound ICS installed by
well-trained promoters.
Local promoters working with local NGOs/CBOs have been trained by resource persons from CRT/N. During those trainings, the theoretical and hands-on practical knowledge on various aspects of ICS as well as the design and construction of various ICS models are imparted to the trainees.
The ICS Network Secretariat had organized two Promoters' training for the
member organizations from October 4 - 9, 2001 and then from January 3-9, 2002 at
the Environment Resource Center (ERC) at Sipadol, Bhaktapur. Participating
member organizations, which had plans to install ICS in their program area were
given priority. Promoters from such program areas were encouraged to participate
in the trainings.
