The "Action Program for Strengthening Improved
Cooking Stove (ICS) Network in Nepal" was initiated in August 2000. It has
completed its I and II phase of its implementation. Various stakeholders such as
GOs, INGOs, NGOs, educational institutes, research organisations have been
involved in promotion and dissemination of ICS to the rural communities in
Nepal.
The number of ICS Network member organization
has expanded to 45 members. More and more organizations are showing keen
interest to join the network. Likewise there are 5 district networks. The
organizations with ICS programs are encouraged to join the network and are
oriented about the network
The ICS Network has focused on achieving four major objectives of the network which are as follows:
1. To strengthen cooperation and collaboration among network member organizations
2. To support and assist in developing
3. To assist and support various ICS related research and development works
4. To create awareness on ICS though publication, promotional materials and information dissemination.
