There has been a consensus in recent years about the importance of ICS and the need for a new approach for ICS dissemination among existing program implementers and stakeholders. Assisted by CRT/N, need for an ICS networking among the related partner organizations have been realized and established in 1995 to facilitate various aspects of ICS development in the country.

To strengthen the existing network, CRT/N, as Country Contact Point (CCP) of Asia Regional Cookstove Program (ARECOP), Indonesia in Nepal is coordinating the implementation of this "Action Program for Strengthening ICS Networks in Nepal " since August 2000. The program has completed the I and II phase respectively and currently undertaking the III phase of the program which will lasts till February 2008.This program initiatives will serve as complementary efforts to the various initiatives undertaken by network organizations and also on the efforts of National ICS Programs of His Majesty's Government of Nepal (HMG/N) in the 10th five year plan.
